Yes. This is a 100% American Heart Association (AHA)–approved course, and you will receive an official AHA eCard upon successful completion.
Your eCard is an electronic AHA certification card emailed directly to you. It includes:
- Your AHA course credentials
- Your instructor’s information and AHA Instructor ID
- Full verification through the AHA eCard system
AHA eCards are accepted for all programs and workplaces that require American Heart Association certification, including:
- Hospitals and healthcare systems
- Schools and universities
- OSHA‑regulated workplaces
- State and national licensing boards
- Any employer requiring AHA‑approved training
Yes, parking is excellent with plenty of room and Parking in the front of the building and back. It is PAID parking. If you park in front of the building, the first parking lot you come to, you will be able to see your vehicle from the Class window.
Yes there are multiple places to eat there is a cafe style restaurant that is open during lunch hours in our adjacent building there is Trader Vic's down the street, Hilton Garden in restaurant across parking lot, Hong Kong East ocean Chinese restaurant at the end of the marina, Denys, and many more across hiway within 0.5 miles.
For U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) licensing and renewal, the requirement is CPR/AED and First Aid, not BLS. The USCG accepts American Heart Association CPR/AED (Heartsaver or equivalent) for all captain’s licenses, OUPV, Master, and renewal applications.
BLS is not required by the Coast Guard unless:
- A captain works in a medical, rescue, or clinical role, or
- Their employer or vessel operator specifically mandates BLS.
Most mariners meet all USCG requirements with:
- AHA Heartsaver CPR/AED
- AHA Heartsaver First Aid
These satisfy 46 CFR requirements for USCG‑approved CPR/First Aid training.
***We recommend to any captains to Take the BLS Course because it will cover all the MMC, OUPV, Mariner credentials and if you end up requiring it later with other roles you will already have it for $25 more.
